Note: if
you're a writer and need an expert script consultant, we recommend
Linda Seger.

Linda is not
affiliated with our organization, however we believe she is one of
the best in the business. If you can't afford her services, we
recommend you read her books.
Director Ron Howard about Linda Seger...
I found MAKING A
GOOD SCRIPT GREAT so helpful, specifically your section on the
Central Question and on creating scene sequences. I've used those
concepts on all my films starting with APOLLO 13.

About Philantos Films
We know how difficult and frustrating it is for writers trying to
crack into the business.
Let us share with you a brief history. We had an idea for a feature
film. We collaborated on a script and received a "recommend" rating
by a respected script analyst. We had a lot of passion for the
material and shopped it around. We were able to get into a lot of
doors and have the script read by production companies, major talent
agencies, A-list talent and a studio executive. It was an
exhilarating ride, but we fell short. Getting through doors was not
easy. We learned what most of you writers learn every day; how
difficult it is to have your material reviewed let alone make a
breakthrough.
We learned that you need a great script and you need great
contacts.
We understand the dilemma. You seemingly need an agent to get
anybody to read your script. And yet all the agencies seem to not
be taking on new clients. Now that's a dilemma. And that's where
we come in.
We assembled a
panel of experts. Our panelists are very diverse in their
experience, talent, and perspective. They know drama, story,
structure, and commercial viability.
We also know that new writers often don't have discretionary income
to hire consultants or people to "cover" their scripts. So we
developed a system where our panelists will review your material at
no cost to you, but we will do it in stages. We will first review
your title, premise and theme. If we like them, then you will
advance. If you make it to the stage where our panelists have read
your script and they "recommend" it, then we will consider working
passionately to sell your script. We will only make money if you
make money.
We already know we can put scripts in the hands of people willing to
buy them, now we need to find great scripts.
So please feel free to
submit the title of your screenplay along with a one sentence
description of the main plot and the underlying theme of your
story. If our panelists like what they see we'll go to the next
step. But again, there will be no cost to you until/unless we sell
your script.
