Screenwriter Resources
If you can afford a professional consultant we recommend
Linda Seger. Please note that
Linda is not part of our panel nor is she part of our
organization. She is a very highly respected script
consultant.
If you don't have the resources to hire a consultant, then we
recommend you read Linda's books. Making Good Scripts Great
is a very good place to start.

We also recommend you browse the articles at

The site was compiled by successful screenwriters Ted Elliott and
Terry Rosio.
Writers Guild of America
Of course, every writer should read William Goldman's
Adventures in the Screen Trade.
And we recommend The Third Act: writing a great ending to
your screenplay written by Drew Yanno.

Screenwriters: Thank you for visiting our
site. The benefits to authors of using Philantos:
- Free look by a panel of experts with
diverse perspectives.
- We strive for a quick assessment and turnaround (however on
occasion the reviews have taken longer than we anticipated).
We'll do whatever we can to shorten the process.
- If the project is accepted it will be aggressively
marketed.
- Our window for marketing the material will be very short;
if we cannot sell it, then we will drop the project so you can
move in a different direction.
- No upfront costs or gimmicks.
- We profit only when you profit.
If you're like the majority of authors your material is not
complete. Please do everything you can to ensure the story is
compelling and the script is structurally sound otherwise it will
not be recommended by our very selective screening process. Our panelists
are very busy people and they will not read any material unless they
believe it has potential for commercial success; they will pass on
any project as soon as they do not believe it is viable, and that
could be after reading the logline or the first page of the script.
If your material is recommended by our screening process we will seek
to represent you and market your material.
We are creating an environment of trust. You can feel
safe sending your material to us. However, we do recommend you
register your material with the Writers Guild of America.
We wish you all the best of luck with your writing.
