Drew Yanno

Drew Yanno has been writing for film since 1993 and has been a member of the Writers Guild of America since 1995.

In 1994, his first script Banca’s Raviolis was a finalist in the inaugural Massachusetts Film Office Screenwriting Competition.  One year later he sold his action/adventure script No Safe Haven to Universal Studios.  The screenplay was the subject of a bidding war and sold in less than eight hours.

Since then, Drew has written more than a dozen scripts.

Drew has been teaching screenwriting in the Film Studies Department at Boston College for the past ten years.  A number of Drew’s former students have optioned their scripts, won screenwriting competitions, and have worked or are currently working in television and film in Hollywood.

In addition to writing and teaching, Drew works as a script consultant and has served as an advisor on a number of films.

Drew's book The Third Act: Writing a Great Ending to Your Screenplay (Continuum 2006) is available in bookstores and on Amazon.
